This is where you can find resources available to Los Angeles area schools to implement educational programs that utilize videoconferencing as a part of instruction.  Much of the information here is utilized by participants in the Standards-Based Virtual Field Trips with Video Conferencing course.

COURSE OVERVIEW

Standards-Based Virtual Field Trips with Video Conferencing Education is a 16-hour course with additional time spent outside to plan and implement a project involving the use of videoconferencing. The course will enable you to:

  • Design and plan a virtual field trip using videoconferencing over IP
  • Prepare students to participate in a video conferencing event
  • Correlate standards and frameworks into the virtual field trip
  • The class project will include an instructional unit that uses the virtual fieldtrip as the catalyst to promote engagement with the learners

In order to help facilitate your project for this class, we will be going over video conferencing equipment and helping to have that equipment available for you to set up for your classroom project.  You will not have to worry about where to get this equipment for the course project implementation. Details will be explained regarding this during the first session.
